About The Position

Ascension Williamson is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to join their Labor and Delivery team in Round Rock, TX. This PRN position involves preparing operating suites, assisting the surgical team, passing instruments, maintaining instrument organization, and facilitating efficient surgical deliveries to ensure optimal maternal and fetal outcomes. The role requires flexibility with scheduling, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date OR Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
3+ years experience as a CST in Labor and Deliver

Responsibilities

Prepare labor and delivery operating suites, recovery spaces, and sterile fields with specialized OB-GYN instruments, drapes, and supplies for routine and emergency procedures (such as C-sections).
Assist the surgical and obstetric team with patient care tasks, including the safe preparation, transportation, positioning, and draping of expectant mothers.
Pass surgical and delivery instruments, sponges, and supplies to the obstetrician or surgeon during delivery and surgical interventions.
Maintain instruments in an organized manner and continuously track, count, and reconcile all sponges, needles, and instruments throughout all labor, delivery, and surgical procedures.
Facilitate the safe, rapid, and efficient performance of both emergency and elective surgical deliveries to ensure optimal maternal and fetal outcomes.
