About The Position

This role is for a Certified Surgical Tech in the Labor and Delivery department at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. The position is full-time, working a day shift with three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. The Surgical Tech will prepare delivery rooms and surgical suites with sterile instruments, anticipate the needs of the obstetric team during deliveries, manage the sterile field for maternal and neonatal safety, and maintain readiness for emergency procedures.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date OR Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Prepare delivery rooms and surgical suites with specialized sterile instruments for natural and operative births.
Anticipate the surgeon’s or midwife’s needs during deliveries to ensure a seamless flow of care.
Manage the sterile field with precision, ensuring all equipment is accounted for during the transition from delivery to postpartum care.
Maintain readiness for emergency procedures, enabling rapid-response surgical care.
