About The Position

This role is for a Certified Surgical Tech in the Operating Room at Ascension St. John Jane Phillips Medical Center. The position is full-time, day shift, Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with call required. Occasional night, weekend, or holiday work may be necessary. The role involves preparing surgical suites, providing instruments and supplies to the surgical team, assisting with patient positioning and draping, and monitoring instrument counts to ensure a safe and efficient surgical environment.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date OR Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical suites with sterile drapes, solutions, and instrumentation.
• Provide surgeons with necessary instruments and supplies during operations.
• Assist with patient positioning and draping, ensuring safety and dignity.
• Monitor and track instrument counts and organization throughout surgery.
