About The Position

The Certified Surgical First Assistant in a surgical operation is an advanced trained and certified individual who is able to participate in and actively assist the surgeon in completing the operation safely and expeditiously by helping to provide exposure, maintain hemostasis, and other technical functions. Assists in operations under the direction of the surgeon to make incisions and close surgical sites, manipulate or remove tissues, implant surgical devices or drains, suction the surgical site, place catheters, clamp or cauterize vessels or tissue, and apply dressings to surgical site.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program, military training program, Master of Surgical Assisting Degree, or LPN
• Registered by the State Board of Medicine
• CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assist) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• Current AHA, BLS, HCP Certification
• Experience as a Surgical Technologist or as a CSFA
• Ability to work all three shifts, weekends and holidays
• Ability to take call for routine or high acuity cases after the orientation period

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred

• Experience at a Level 1 or 2 Trauma Center
• Experience in cardiac, robotics, vascular, orthopedics, neurosurgery, transplant surgery

Benefits

• Compensation Range $30.01 - $46.51
• Actual salary offers will be based on several key factors to include relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
