About The Position

LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking qualified professionals to support the 125th Special Tactics Squadron (125 STS) Human Performance Program in Portland, Oregon. The program provides an integrated approach to injury prevention, rehabilitation, human performance optimization, consultation, assessment, and reporting for Air Force Special Warfare operators. The mission is to improve readiness, reduce injury and lost duty time, and sustain operator performance. The Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist will design, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based strength, conditioning, and performance programs for 125 STS operators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, strength and conditioning, human performance, or a closely related field.
  • Current Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Ability to provide documentation of degrees, licenses, credentials, and certifications for Government review.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance and meet installation/CAC eligibility requirements.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for a SECRET clearance.
  • Ability to work on-site in Portland, Oregon.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, human performance, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting Special Operations Forces, military tactical athletes, collegiate/professional athletes, or comparable high-performance populations.
  • Experience with performance testing, data-informed programming, load management, return-to-duty integration, and group training.
  • Additional relevant credentials such as USA Weightlifting certification or other recognized tactical/high-performance certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver individualized and group strength and conditioning programs aligned to Special Tactics mission demands.
  • Conduct physical performance assessments, interpret results, provide operator feedback, and use data to adjust programming.
  • Develop remote training plans tailored to operator needs and available equipment when requested.
  • Integrate strength and conditioning programming with injury-prevention, rehabilitation, and return-to-duty strategies developed by the interdisciplinary team.
  • Coach safe and effective use of strength, conditioning, cardiovascular, testing, and recovery equipment.
  • Support group training sessions and individual operator sessions across strength, power, endurance, mobility, work capacity, and mission-specific physical readiness.
  • Work as part of an integrated Human Performance Program supporting Air Force Special Warfare operators.
  • Conduct and document discipline-appropriate operator assessments and contribute to individualized performance, rehabilitation, or care plans.
  • Coordinate with other Human Performance Program staff and Government medical personnel to support integrated operator care and return-to-duty objectives.
  • Document individual service encounters and provide required program data in accordance with contract timelines and Government procedures.
  • Participate in weekly care coordination meetings and monthly program status meetings, as required.
  • Support initial and annual follow-up physical and mental performance assessments and provide individual feedback within the scope of the position.
  • Contribute to program reporting, assessment analysis, protocol development, and continuous program improvement.
  • Protect personally identifiable and health-related information and comply with applicable DoD, Air Force, installation, safety, security, and information-protection requirements.
  • Maintain Government-furnished equipment and work areas within the employee's assigned scope and promptly identify equipment or safety concerns.
  • Adjust work schedules as required to support quarterly Regularly Scheduled Drills (RSDs), annual training, and mission requirements.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
