About The Position

This role is responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established safety standards and manufacturer Instructions for Use. The technician will inspect and assemble instrument trays accurately to ensure surgical teams have the correct instruments and supplies for each procedure. They will operate and monitor sterilization equipment to maintain compliance with infection prevention and quality assurance standards. Additionally, the role involves maintaining inventory levels and preparing case cart supplies efficiently to support seamless surgical and procedural operations, and supporting quality and compliance initiatives by performing audits and helping maintain high standards across the sterile processing department.

Requirements

  • Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
