Requirements

  • An SPD technician ensures medical instruments are properly cleaned, inspected, and sterilized to support safe patient care. This role is essential for preventing healthcare-associated infections and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
  • Motivated individual to join our team as a Sterile Processing Technician.
  • No prior experience is required — we are willing to provide on-the-job training!
  • Non-certified techs will be working under the guidance of a Certified Sterile Processing Technician.
  • A minimum of 400 hours of hands-on experience is required to become certified.

Nice To Haves

  • CSP Certification (CRCST or CBSPD Certification) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and decontaminating surgical instruments and equipment to eliminate pathogens and contaminants.
  • Inspection of instruments for damage, wear, or malfunction, ensuring that only safe and functional medical devices are available for surgical use.
  • Operating and monitoring sterilization equipment, ensuring that all instrumentation is sterilized according to the manufacturer's instructions for use.
  • Properly packaging instruments in sterilization containers or wraps for safe transport and storage.
  • Maintaining accurate records and managing the inventory of sterilized instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Accurately assemble surgical case carts according to surgeon preference cards and scheduled procedures.
  • Ensure that all required instruments and supplies are available, sterile, and ready for use in the operating room.
  • Work closely with surgical teams, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure seamless operations during surgical procedures and address any supply or equipment issues that may arise.
  • Follow healthcare regulations, infection control policies, and department protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards.
