About The Position

At Physicians’ Surgery Center of Tidewater, we understand that safe, successful surgical outcomes begin with excellence behind the scenes. Our Sterile Processing team plays a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of patient safety by ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use. We are an AAAHC-accredited, physician-owned ambulatory surgery center committed to quality, efficiency, and teamwork. With 2 operating rooms and 1 procedure room supporting specialties such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, ENT, ophthalmology, and more, our sterile processing professionals are essential to keeping cases running smoothly and supporting a high-performing surgical team. The Sterile Processing Technician maintains and cares for all surgical instruments. Prepares supplies and instruments for surgery cases.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of 1-2 years of Sterile Processing experience
• Completion of a Sterile Process Certification program
• Experience with all types of sterilizers
• Knowledge of operating room instrumentation and procedures
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions of the patient when needed

Responsibilities

• Maintains and cares for all surgical instruments.
• Prepares supplies and instruments for surgery cases.
