Perform thorough decontamination of soiled surgical instruments, sterilization containers, and medical equipment according to manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs) and established safety protocols. Inspect, evaluate, and assemble surgical instruments and sets; utilize count sheets and tracking systems to validate completeness, determine repair or replacement needs, and ensure tools are ready for effective sterilization. Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, ensuring all instruments, containers, and machines function properly and meet strict cleanliness and quality standards. Maintain optimal inventory levels of sterile supplies and instruments to ensure accurate and timely availability for surgical case carts. Participate in the department's quality assurance program by conducting regular peer audits to maintain high standards of patient safety and compliance.
