About The Position
Kokua is seeking a long-term certified special education substitute teacher for their partner schools in Denver, CO. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community by supporting students and helping to address the teacher shortage crisis. The position is a long-term assignment, teaching 5 days a week in the same school, with typical working hours from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Candidates will be able to choose assignments and locations they are excited about. Kokua provides weekly paychecks, a quick hiring process, and access to a supportive community and team.
Requirements
- Colorado Special Education certification
- Alternative Teacher License with a Special Education Generalist (5-12) endorsement
- 1+ year(s) experience working with students
- Confidence to manage a classroom of students
- Ability to pass state & federal background check
- Strong belief that every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world
