About The Position
The Certified Scrub Tech will prepare and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures, anticipate the surgeon's needs, and pass instruments and supplies efficiently. This role also involves performing surgical counts, handling specimens, assisting with room turnover, and maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation. Adherence to infection control and safety standards, along with effective collaboration with the surgical team, is crucial.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Minimum of 1 year of surgical scrub experience
- BLS certification required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile field during surgical procedures
- Anticipate surgeon’s needs and pass instruments and supplies efficiently
- Perform surgical counts (sponges, needles, instruments) per policy
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, and care of specimens
- Assist with room turnover and case setup
- Maintain knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and supplies
- Adhere to infection control and safety standards at all times
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing staff
