About The Position

The Hagedorn Little Village School, Jack Joel Center for Special Children, is seeking a Certified School Psychologist for a 10-month, in-person position. This role involves conducting assessments for children aged 2.5 to 5.5 as part of the CPSE (Committee on Preschool Special Education) evaluations department. The psychologist will be a key member of the CPSE team, contributing to the evaluation process for young children with developmental disabilities.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Psychology
Certification as a School Psychologist
Passionate about working with children and families
Empathetic and considerate of others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent time management/organizational skills
Ability to multitask and meet compliance deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members
Fingerprinting and a New York State criminal background check are mandatory

Responsibilities

Conduct social history interviews and classroom observations
Conduct cognitive and educational evaluations
Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments in community pre-schools
Complete Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Conduct parent training sessions (optional)
Provide families with information regarding the CPSE process and the evaluations conducted with their child
Participate in school district meetings and present the evaluations to the Committee on Preschool Special Education
