About The Position
Foundation Academies is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified School Nurse (CSN) to promote scholar health, safety, wellness, and readiness to learn. The CSN will provide direct nursing care, emergency response, health education, medication management, and care coordination while partnering with scholars, families, staff, and healthcare providers.
Requirements
- Active New Jersey Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Active New Jersey Department of Education Certified School Nurse (CSN) certification.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Knowledge of school nursing practices and student health services.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive student health information.
- Ability to respond effectively to medical emergencies and manage competing priorities.
- Successful completion of required background checks and employment requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care, assessment, and emergency response.
- Develop and manage individualized healthcare and emergency plans.
- Administer and monitor medications in accordance with orders and school policy.
- Conduct required health screenings and maintain accurate student health records.
- Support students with acute, chronic, and complex medical needs.
- Coordinate care with families, healthcare providers, and school teams.
- Provide health education and staff training on student health needs.
- Monitor immunization compliance and support communicable disease management.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant health office.
- Collaborate with school leaders and multidisciplinary teams to support student wellness and access to learning.
