About The Position

Methodist Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) to join our Respiratory Care team. In this role, you will provide a full range of respiratory therapy services to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions, including diagnostic testing, therapeutic interventions, and advanced ventilator management. You'll work closely with physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes. Requirements

  • Graduate of an NBRC-approved and accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Current Mississippi Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
  • Six months to one year of clinical respiratory therapy experience under medical direction.
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory care practices, therapeutic modalities, and patient assessment.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mechanical ventilation and advanced respiratory care procedures.
  • Previous experience in an acute care, rehabilitation, or hospital setting.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and perform comprehensive respiratory assessments.
  • Administer a full range of therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care procedures within the scope of respiratory practice.
  • Develop and implement respiratory care treatments based on physician orders and patient needs.
  • Perform advanced respiratory therapy procedures, including mechanical ventilator management.
  • Monitor patient response to respiratory treatments and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
  • Obtain and evaluate diagnostic data, including arterial blood gases and other respiratory assessments.
  • Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, airway clearance techniques, and respiratory medications.
  • Participate in emergency response and life support activities as needed.
  • Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
  • Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and progress.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to provide exceptional patient care.
