Under the supervision and direction of a Registered Pharmacist and with assistance from the Lead Registered Pharmacy Technician, this role is responsible for providing technical support in performing various functions authorized by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as per the Texas Pharmacy Laws and Regulations. These functions include, but are not limited to, distributing prepackaged prescribed medications/drugs, pharmaceutical preparations, and cashiering. The position requires demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including understanding the principles of growth and development over a life span and identifying each patient’s age-specific grouping of needs (infant, adolescent, or geriatric). The role is also responsible for compliance with other requirements affecting the Medical Center, such as State/Federal regulations (i.e., HIPAA), PCMH, DSHS standards, and Compliance Performance Improvement (CPI) standards.
