About The Position

Join the winning team! Synergy Orthopedic Specialists seeks a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). You will work with San Diego’s top orthopedic surgeons under the medical supervision of an Anesthesiologist to deliver exceptional anesthesia services across a diverse range of surgical and procedural contexts at Synergy Surgery Center of San Diego (Mission Valley). Your responsibilities include administering general and regional anesthesia to patients spanning various age groups while adhering to the ASC’s and departmental standards of care. Key tasks involve airway management, fluid balance maintenance, homeostasis monitoring, and rapid response to emergency situations such as airway complications and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Requirements

  • Graduated from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Schools.
  • Registered Nurse License (California)
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist National Certification
  • Demonstrated experience in anesthesia for major procedures, including extensive monitoring and fluid management across diverse patient age groups.
  • Proficiency in technical, clinical, and professional skills as defined by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs.
  • Strong charting, documentation, equipment management, and staff development aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the company’s Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and relevant state, federal, and local regulations.
  • Conduct pre-operative patient evaluations through comprehensive interviews and examinations, reviewing relevant medical charts.
  • Collaborate with Anesthesiologists to select appropriate anesthesia based on pre-operative assessments.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in addressing the unique needs of patients.
  • Monitor anesthesia equipment regularly to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
  • Prepare and administer drugs as necessary, adhering to clinical privileges and guidelines.
  • Provide intraoperative monitoring and respond promptly to maintain patient stability.
  • Evaluate patients postoperatively within 24 hours.
  • Mentor student nurse anesthetists as part of professional development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of controlled substances usage and adhere to departmental guidelines.
  • Foster positive relations with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
