About The Position

This role involves assisting in the preparation and maintenance of clinic areas and patient records, supporting providers and staff with patient care procedures, and ensuring adherence to compliance and HIPAA regulations. The position requires a medical assistant certificate, strong customer service skills, and the ability to administer injections. The work environment is an interior medical office setting with potential exposure to hazardous risks.

Requirements

• Current training completion certificate as a Medical Assistant required.
• Ability to administer injections
• Excellent customer service skills both in-person and on the telephone.
• Priority setting skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation of clinic area/exam rooms.
• Assists with patient intake and discharge.
• Measures vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight.
• Assists in transporting/directing patients to clinic areas.
• Assists providers and other staff members with patient care procedures.
• Collects specimens as directed.
• Documents in the medical record as required.
• Assists in ordering and maintaining supplies.
• Participates/attends educational programs.
• Assists with maintaining patient records.
• Contacts patients/families as directed by providers or licensed nurses.
• Maintains a clean work environment.
• Assists with referral tracking.
• Assists with ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Adheres to the terms and conditions set forth in BSHC’s corporate compliance program.
• Ensures confidential information in accordance with BSHC’s policy and current HIPAA regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
