About The Position

Coastal Harbor Health System is seeking a Certified Recreation Therapist to design and lead purposeful recreation programs tailored to patients’ interests. The therapist assesses leisure needs and develops treatment plans with goals and interventions that support overall well-being and progress. The role is based within a multidisciplinary behavioral healthcare environment serving children, adolescents, and adults at inpatient facilities in Savannah, Georgia.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification required.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in an inpatient setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead a well-rounded recreation therapy program that includes fitness, creative arts, outdoor activities, and special events.
• Build engaging weekly schedules that encourage participation and progress.
• Collaborate with Medicine, Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, and Therapy to coordinate recreation services with overall treatment goals.
• Participate in treatment meetings and therapeutic groups, contributing to care planning.
• Build partnerships with community agencies to expand patient opportunities.
