About The Position
Greenwood Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility in Evanston, Illinois, is hiring a full-time Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS). The role provides mental health or co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse recovery support, drawing on personal recovery experience. The position pays $20 per hour and offers a choice of an 8 a.m.–4 p.m. or 9 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule. The specialist will be on call every other weekend.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Required Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) credential.
- Experience working with people receiving psychosocial rehabilitation services or with psychiatric disorders, substance abuse, and/or developmental disorders.
- Tolerance and compassion for adults with psychiatric disorders.
Responsibilities
- Provide peer-oriented individual and group counseling to help with wellness recovery plans.
- May assist with recreational and leisure activities.
- Foster a safe, motivating, and supportive environment.
- Encourage and model the philosophy of recovery and empowerment through CRSS principles.
