About The Position

Crossroads Treatment Centers is seeking a Certified Recovery Specialist to provide peer-based recovery support services to individuals contemplating or actively seeking help with behavioral health recovery. This role involves collaborating with county jails, detention centers, and drug courts to connect individuals to medication-assisted treatment (MAT) both pre-trial and post-adjudication. The specialist will also host community events to distribute harm reduction materials and collaborate with key community partners, including justice-involved partners. Building rapport through empathetic and active listening, and communicating in a non-judgmental way is crucial. The position requires participation in daily shift debriefs, weekly individual supervision, and monthly group supervision. Administrative duties include recovery plan creation, data tracking and entry, and regular digital communication. Adherence to TCBAP codes of ethics and the recovery bill of rights is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Past mental illness, substance abuse, or co-occurring disorder
  • Self-identify as a person who is in recovery and demonstrate self-directed recovery for a minimum of 24 consecutive months from mental illness, substance abuse, or co-occurring disorder
  • Successfully completed the state’s Certified Recovery Specialist training within the last year

Nice To Haves

  • A personal history of justice involvement is considered advantageous (but not required) in order to effectively connect with and support the justice-involved population.
  • Completion of 75 hours of supervision preferred, but not required upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Engage in relationship building with individuals to establish rapport, as evidenced by empathetic and active listening and communicating in a non-judgmental way.
  • Participate in daily shift debriefs, as well as weekly individual supervision, and monthly group supervision.
  • Administrative duties to include recovery plan creation, data tracking and entry, and regular digital communication via e-mail, group messaging apps, etc.
  • Conduct self in an ethical manner by adhering to the TCBAP codes of ethics.
  • Follow and adhere to the recovery bill of rights.
