About The Position

Temple University Hospital's Episcopal Campus has provided quality care in our neighborhood for generations and is known for its behavioral health expertise- providing a wide array of outpatient services. The campus boasts a thriving med/surg unit, a full service emergency department, primary care and specialty physician offices. This position will be based at TUHE but may follow patients with drug and alcohol (D&A) history throughout the care continuum. They will be an active member of the patient's treatment team. In this role, the CRS will engage patients as a peer and may interact with family members, aftercare providers and any additional outside supports. The individual in this position will provide individual recovery sessions along with a variety of supportive services and community integration related to recovery services. Brief substance use assessments will be completed in collaboration with treatment to determine the patient's most appropriate next level of care. Will also provide warm hand-off services to the most appropriate D&A treatment programs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 18 months lived experience in D&A Recovery
  • Certified Recovery Specialist

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree
  • 1 year prior work/volunteer experience as Recovery Specialist
  • 1 year prior work/volunteer experience in implementation of the ASAM criteria
