About The Position

Pyramid Healthcare's Recovery Support Services Division is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) to join our Quakertown team. In this role, you will provide peer-based recovery support to individuals working toward sustained recovery from substance use disorders. As a CRS, you serve as a mentor, role model, advocate, and motivator, using your lived experience and a strengths-based approach to empower individuals throughout their recovery journey. This position supports individuals across the continuum of care, including those engaged in Center of Excellence (COE) services for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD).

Requirements

  • Active Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) certification at time of hire
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a behavioral health or substance use treatment setting
  • 18 hours of continuing education annually
  • Minimum 30 hours over a two-year certification cycle per PCB standards
  • Knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery-oriented systems of care
  • Ability to engage individuals across varying stages of readiness
  • Strong ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality
  • Strong rapport-building and motivational skills using lived experience
  • Effective organizational and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and any required state‑mandated clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals in initiating and sustaining recovery through peer-based services
  • Connect individuals with community-based recovery supports and resources
  • Provide ongoing support before, during, and after treatment episodes
  • Facilitate one-on-one recovery support sessions focused on goals, strengths, and wellness
  • Empower individuals to build self-advocacy skills, independence, and personal accountability
  • Collaborate with clinical teams, families, and community providers
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute a recovery-focused perspective
  • Encourage involvement in sober social, educational, vocational, and employment opportunities
  • Assist individuals with rebuilding healthy relationships and support networks
  • Link clients to mutual-aid groups, volunteer opportunities, and employment resources
  • Provide recovery education based on each individual’s stage of change
  • Serve as a positive role model, appropriately sharing lived experience
  • Monitor recovery progress and assist with referrals to treatment services when needed
  • Support individuals in overcoming barriers in early recovery
  • Assist in the development and updating of individualized recovery plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with program standards
  • Attend required trainings, meetings, and continuing education
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
