About The Position

The Certified Recovery Advocate shall work with the Residential Program Manager and other staff to help sustain an active recovery community. Peers use their shared personal lived experience to promote client's recovery, offering support, advocacy, and skill development opportunities. This role involves participating with clients face-to-face in the Residences and in the community. Some documentation of services provided is a component of this work. The advocate must be able to model behavior consistent with the mission of Addictions Care Center of Albany.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Recovery Peer Advocate-CRPA (substance use).
  • High School graduate or GED.
  • At least one (1) year work experience in an OASAS licensed facility.
  • Current valid driver's license.
  • Ability to model behavior consistent with the mission of Addictions Care Center of Albany.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful recovery from addictions for at least three years.
