About The Position
The Certified Recovery Peer Advocate will work full-time, 40 hours per week, in the Behavioral Health Department at Gouverneur Hospital. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This role involves supporting individuals in their recovery journey.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Completion of Peer Recovery Training course - 30 hours
- Peer Ethics Training Course
- Must be eligible for Certified Recovery Peer Advocate - Provisional
- Must complete 500 hours of work experience, including 25 hours of supervision within 6 months
- Must schedule IC&RC Exam upon completion of work experience and receive passing grade
- Must maintain current certification status
Responsibilities
- Provide peer support to individuals in recovery.
- Complete Peer Recovery Training course (30 hours).
- Complete Peer Ethics Training Course.
- Work towards Provisional Certified Recovery Peer Advocate status.
- Complete 500 hours of work experience, including 25 hours of supervision within 6 months.
- Schedule and pass the IC&RC Exam upon completion of work experience.
- Maintain current certification status.
