About The Position

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Certified Potable Water Plant Operator to join their team in Hertford, NC. This role supports current infrastructure with anticipated upgrades and involves working with a team of two other operators on daily wastewater and potable water activities. The candidate will also serve as a backup Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC). The selected candidate will work at a location in Hertford, NC, and is expected to be a high performer supporting customers. The position is open to potential Skillbridge candidates.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain Grade C Distribution System Operator Certification or higher within 6 months
  • Ability to obtain Cross-Connection Control/Backflow Prevention Certification within 6 months
  • Ability to obtain Grade B-Well Water Operator Certification (B-Well) or higher within 6 months
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize general knowledge of building codes, state regulations and safety procedures
  • Construct commercial office space by providing overall construction capabilities, with limited supervision
  • Oversee all aspect of water system operations, maintenance and monitoring
  • Respond to trouble calls and resolves a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity
  • Repair and maintain plant equipment and demonstrates advanced skill level in these areas
  • Interpret basic schematics and diagrams
  • Monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges
  • Provide guidance to less experienced employees
  • Review customer requirements and may evaluate product capabilities, under general guidance
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools to construct, renovate and repair facilities and equipment
  • Conduct necessary weekend checks of the Potable Water Plant on a rotating basis
  • May receive specialized equipment training
  • May provide training to peers and/or customers on the general use of equipment
