About The Position

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT), also referred to as a Phlebotomy Tech, at Pampa Regional Medical Center in Pampa, Texas. The role is responsible for drawing blood and handling specimens, ensuring proper identification, labeling, and transport to the laboratory. The technician maintains equipment, follows quality and safety protocols, records patient data, and collaborates with other departments to support effective patient care.

This is a full-time day-shift position with 10-hour shifts: either Tuesday and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or Monday and Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. A $750 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates; eligibility and payout terms apply, with details discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current and valid state certification as a CPT I.
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained as current.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for blood draws, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Collect blood from patients using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or other techniques, and ensure correct patient identification and specimen labeling.
• Organize, handle, process, store, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing.
• Follow quality control and safety protocols to maintain specimen integrity and support accurate test results.
• Maintain and calibrate phlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensuring they are working properly and sanitized.
• Perform more complex or specialized phlebotomy procedures as required, often with minimal supervision.
