Requirements

  • High School or equivalent; experience can substitute for education on a year for year basis above the minimum required.
  • Board of Pharmacy technician registration; maintain current licensure and certification for state.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a pharmacy setting to include pharmacy/medical data entry experience.
  • Knowledge of ChenMed products, services, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good math and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, meet deadlines and be flexible.
  • Excellent organization skills and detailed oriented.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Spoken and written fluency in English.

Nice To Haves

  • This position may require travel nationwide for training and support purposes as needed.
  • Flexible to work evening, weekends and/or holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Review and comply with the Pharmacy Technician Code of Conduct.
  • Assist healthcare providers and patients by greeting them, answering questions, and referring inquiries to the Pharmacist when necessary.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory by monitoring stock levels, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and removing outdated drugs.
  • Maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques and create claims for order errors and damaged goods.
  • Ensure a safe and clean pharmacy environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Utilize pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information accurately, fill prescriptions, verify medicine correctness, and check for potential interactions.
  • Immediately report prescription errors to the Pharmacist and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
  • Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, and Co-pay requirements.
  • Engage patients by offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Register all related sales on the assigned cash register, collecting and handling cash as required.
  • Direct and assist team members to maintain workflow and meet deadlines as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist on duty.
  • Process claims for 3rd party reimbursement efficiently and correctly to third-party insurance providers.
  • Earn and maintain certification and licensure as required per state regulations.
  • Attend training and complete assignments as requested by the Pharmacy Manager and acquire continuing education credits.
  • Maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.
