About The Position

This role is for a Certified Pharmacy Technician in a hospital outpatient/retail setting in Lorain. The ideal candidate will utilize excellent customer service skills to serve both hospital discharge patients (meds to beds) and regular customers. The pharmacy operates Monday-Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, with a lunch closure, and is closed on major holidays. Requirements

High School Degree or GED
Valid CPhT Certification provided by the National Health Career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification
Registration with State Board of Pharmacy

Previous experience working in Retail, Ambulatory, Outpatient, Hospital, Acute Care, or Home Infusion Pharmacy
Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication names, and aseptic technique

Working as part of an interdisciplinary patient care team under the direction of the Pharmacist
Receiving and verifying the accuracy and authenticity of prescriptions
Reviewing and recording patient information with their prescription in compliance with guidelines
Providing instructions to educate people on the correct way to take their medicine
Supporting the Pharmacist in the daily operation of the pharmacy
Protecting employees and patients by adhering to infection-control protocols and policies
Other duties as assigned
