Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license for business travel purposes.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Pharmacy Technician Licenses in states requiring licensure.
  • Approved and active National Certified Technician certification.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering superior customer service, including greeting customers, suggestive selling, handling special requests, and resolving minor customer issues.
  • Assisting customers at the register by processing sales of prescriptions, OTC products, groceries, and other items.
  • Identifying customer needs, locating products, and promoting products and services.
  • Working with pharmacists to resolve customer issues or problems.
  • Operating and maintaining knowledge of equipment such as registers, phones, computers, fax machines, scanners, and prescription processing systems.
  • Retrieving prescriptions and necessary information for prescription processing.
  • Preparing prescriptions for the pharmacist by assigning wait times, data entering, counting medication, and labeling prescriptions.
  • Working with patients and insurance companies to resolve insurance-related opportunities for paid claims.
  • Assisting customers in completing first-time patient information documents and processing insurance or discount cards.
  • Providing customer assistance during prescription pick-up, including verifying prescriptions and gathering electronic signatures.
  • Controlling inventories by keeping products stocked, ordering, receiving, and checking in wholesaler orders.
  • Logging invoices and removing outdated or recalled products, processing paperwork for returns or transfers.
  • Providing operational support to pharmacists and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Reporting suspected prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately.
  • Understanding and following applicable Federal and State Laws (e.g., HIPPA), regulations (e.g., OSHA), professional standards, and ethical principles.
  • Complying with Weis policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and protect patient privacy.
  • Promoting eligible services to patients such as autofill, medication synchronization, text alerts, and immunizations.
  • Supporting pharmacists in preparing Medication Therapy Management cases.
  • Performing additional job-related responsibilities and duties as necessary or assigned.
  • Supporting and embodying the Mission, Vision, and Values of Weis Markets.
