About The Position

This role is for a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Ascension Saint Thomas River Park in McMinnville, TN. The position is full-time, working day shifts. The technician will be responsible for maintaining automated dispensing systems, preparing sterile and non-sterile compounds, managing pharmacy inventory, serving as a point of contact for patients and healthcare professionals, and partnering with Pharmacists to deliver distributive services.

Requirements

Registered Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
Certified Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Certified Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
CPhT Required

Nice To Haves

Pharmacy students actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy are not required to have certification/registration.

Responsibilities

Proactively maintain automated dispensing systems to ensure seamless, secure medication access for clinical units.
Accurately prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds and repackage medications according to strict CPhT safety standards.
Manage the pharmacy’s lifeblood by overseeing inventory, receiving supplies, and ensuring all stock meets regulatory storage requirements.
Serve as a primary point of contact, triaging complex inquiries and providing vital information to patients and healthcare professionals.
Partner with Pharmacists to deliver high-level distributive services and maintain the technical integrity of the pharmacy department.
