About The Position

As our company grows, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The Certified Pharmacy Technician is responsible for supporting pharmacists in prescription preparation, inventory control, patient communications, and medication access programs. The technician ensures safe, accurate, and timely pharmacy operations, while delivering excellent service to patients and healthcare staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (required)
  • Completion of pharmacy technician training program or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to type at least 40 WPM
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Must pass drug screening and criminal background check
  • The ability to work in Columbus, GA and in Talbotton, GA and Fortson, GA, when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with RX30, ECW, CoverMyMeds (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacist in filling prescriptions accurately and promptly
  • Input prescription data, bill insurance, and manage refill requests
  • Order and manage pharmacy inventory
  • Communicate with providers, nurses, and clinical staff
  • Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and compliance with safety standards
  • Support the Patient Assistance Program (PAP)
  • Contact manufacturers for updates and refills
  • Complete and track medication applications
  • Collect documentation and communicate program status with patients
  • Assist with Medication Therapy Management (MTM)
  • Perform medication reconciliation
  • Identify financial assistance options
  • Manage Prior Authorizations (PA)
  • Contact providers and submit PAs through CoverMyMeds
  • Track pending PAs and ensure timely follow-up
  • Answer patient questions with professionalism and clarity
  • Staff the pharmacy every 3rd Saturday of the month and at least three late-night shifts per month
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising pharmacist
