Certified Pharmacy Technician
About The Position
Works in a fast-paced production environment known as an automated Central Fill Pharmacy. Assist pharmacists in the accurate preparation and distribution of prescription medications. This role involves working with co-workers as a team to ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures and facility policies. Handles inquiries that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise and judgment. Assists in developing standard operating procedures, preparing and affixing labels to prescription containers, and assisting in training employees. The technician will gain a complete understanding of Hy-Vee’s retail pharmacy operations and offer avenues to better serve them. They will report any medication errors to appropriate personnel, order, check-in, and stock pharmacy supplies, and maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area. Strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress is required, as well as adherence to all statutes and regulations pertaining to a pharmacy technician. The role also includes performing mail order call center duties such as data entry to prepare prescription orders, manually counting medication quantities, replenishing medication cells, replacing empty medication cells, and bringing full cells to robots.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified as a licensed technician through a certified national program and maintains continuing education requirements to keep license active.

- Assists in areas as needed
- Performs other related job duties and special projects as required
- Assist in stocking of pharmacy supplies
