About The Position

The Certified Pharmacy Technician (PRN) plays a critical role in supporting pharmacists by accurately preparing and dispensing medications in compliance with regulatory standards. This position ensures the safe and efficient operation of the pharmacy by managing inventory, processing prescriptions, and providing excellent customer service. As a PRN role, the technician will work on an as-needed basis, offering flexibility while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism. The technician collaborates closely with pharmacists and healthcare providers to verify prescription information and resolve any discrepancies. Requirements

  • Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician from a recognized certifying body (e.g., PTCB or ExCPT).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety standards applicable in the United States.
  • Ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations related to medication dosages.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Previous experience working as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify prescription information and patient data to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and rotating medications to prevent shortages or expirations.
  • Provide courteous and knowledgeable customer service, addressing patient inquiries and assisting with over-the-counter products.
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, transactions, and controlled substances in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support pharmacy operations by cleaning and organizing work areas and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to clarify prescription details and resolve issues.
