About The Position

This role is responsible for proactively maintaining automated dispensing systems to ensure seamless, secure medication access for clinical units. The technician will accurately prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds and repackage medications according to strict CPhT safety standards. They will manage the pharmacy’s inventory, receive supplies, and ensure all stock meets regulatory storage requirements. Additionally, the technician will serve as a primary point of contact, triaging complex inquiries and providing vital information to patients and healthcare professionals. The role involves partnering with Pharmacists to deliver high-level distributive services and maintain the technical integrity of the pharmacy department.

Requirements

Registered Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
Certified Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Certified Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
2+ years of CPhT experience

Nice To Haves

Pharmacy students actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy are not required to have certification/registration.
Advanced CPhT preferred

Responsibilities

Serve as a primary point of contact, triaging complex inquiries and providing vital information to patients and healthcare professionals.
Partner with Pharmacists to deliver high-level distributive services and maintain the technical integrity of the pharmacy department.
