Certified Pharmacy Technician - Sterile Products
About The Position
Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support the ongoing duties and responsibilities of pharmacists. This role directly contributes to the preparation and dispensing of medications for patient administration under pharmacist supervision. The technician will also handle customer service inquiries, triage phone calls, and manage inventory control processes. This position is part of the Pharm Inpt Sterile Ops Team and focuses on sterile products for the Inpatient Central Pharmacy. Training is provided, and sterile products experience is not required.
Requirements
- Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician through either PTCB or NHA in order to be considered.
- Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
- Relevant Work Experience
- Less than 1 year experience

Responsibilities
- Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and/or distribution of medications.
- Applies departmental processes regarding inventory control.
- Performs activities as directed by pharmacists and/or pharmacy managers in accordance with federal, state, and local laws/regulations and hospital policies.
- Delivers outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Operates computer systems and utilizes technology.
- Provides customer service by answering phone requests and triaging calls to the appropriate person if they cannot answer the requested information.
- Applies departmental processes regarding inventory control.
