About The Position
Under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, this role is responsible for various tasks in the Outpatient Pharmacy. Key duties include data entry, counting and labeling prescriptions, managing inventory levels of pharmaceuticals, ordering medications, returning overstocks and outdates, performing clerical functions, conducting weekly controlled substance counts, updating retail prices, operating the Point of Sale register, balancing the cash register daily, communicating medication information to patients, consulting with the pharmacist on drug utilization reviews and allergies, providing customer service, problem-solving, maintaining professional competency, and supporting performance improvement initiatives. The role also involves performing other duties as requested by pharmacy management.
Requirements
- Registered with the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy as a technician
- Basic typing skills
- Working knowledge of computers and equipment utilized in the preparation, dispensing and distribution of pharmaceutical products
- Great customer service skills

Nice To Haves
- Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
- Registered in good standing as a "State Certified Pharmacy Technician" with the SC Board of Pharmacy
- Certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire if not currently certified
