About The Position

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is a large, renowned hospital known for its advancements in various medical fields. The Certified Pharmacy Technician II will support pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, processing prescriptions, compounding medications, managing inventory, and assisting patients. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a patient-focused approach to ensure safe medication practices and excellent patient care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent, upon hire
• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, upon hire
• Active CPT-EXCPT or CPT-PTCB or CPHT certification in good standing, upon hire
• 6 months experience compounding of IV medication, upon hire

Responsibilities

• Prepares, distributes and delivers medications in accordance with CSH policies and procedures, The Joint Commission requirements, and Department of Health regulations.
• Performs clerical and administrative tasks in support of the day to day operations of the department.
• Maintains proper medication and supply stock levels.
• Operates and maintains automated medication delivery systems and devices.
• Participates in department quality assurance programs and maintains appropriate quality assurance documentation.
• Trained and certified in IV admixture preparation including all regulatory and compliance requirements with required training and documentation.
• This may include preparation and handling of hazardous / chemotherapy medication if applicable.
