About The Position

The Certified Pharmacy Technician II - Inpatient Pharmacy role is responsible for various tasks within the inpatient pharmacy setting. This includes performing unit dose preparation for cartfill and first doses, preparing non-sterile, non-hazard doses from liquid dosage forms, and delivering patient-specific doses. The role also involves preparing and performing ADC replenishment, handling outpatient phone triage, performing insurance adjudication, and conducting medication storage inspections. Additionally, the technician will perform sterile compounding or non-sterile hazardous compounding, and under an authorized program, check the work of other pharmacy technicians (Tech Check Tech). The position also entails managing medication doses on the nursing unit in decentralized pharmacy operations and performing inpatient phone triage.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ year of work experience in a Pharmacy Technician discipline
  • Must be PTCB certified and OH Board of Pharmacy certified
  • Other National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is required. Approved certification is through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PCTB) and ExCPT Certification by the National Healthcareer Association.

Responsibilities
