About The Position
The Certified Pharmacy Technician II - Inpatient Pharmacy role at Cincinnati Children's involves performing various tasks related to medication preparation, dispensing, and management within an inpatient hospital setting. This includes unit dose preparation, sterile and non-sterile compounding, checking the work of other technicians, managing medication doses on nursing units, and handling phone triage and insurance adjudication. The position is full-time, with a standard work week of 40 hours, and operates on a rotating shift schedule. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ year of work experience in a Pharmacy Technician discipline
- Must be PTCB certified and OH Board of Pharmacy certified
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is required.
- Approved certification is through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PCTB) and ExCPT Certification by the National Healthcareer Association.

Responsibilities
- Performs unit dose preparation for cartfill and first doses.
- Non-sterile, non-hazard dose preparation for first fill or cartfill including preparation of oral syringes from liquid dosage forms.
- Delivery of patient specific doses.
- Prepare and perform ADC replenishment.
- Performs outpatient phone triage.
- Performs insurance adjudication.
- Performs medication storage inspections.
- Performs Sterile compounding or non-sterile hazardous compounding.
- Under authorized program is able to check the work of another pharmacy technician (Tech Check Tech).
- Manages medication doses on the nursing unit in decentralized pharmacy operations.
- Performs inpatient phone triage.
