About The Position

This full-time position is located in the pharmacy call center at the Winston Campus and assists with medication access needs, including processing test claims and prior authorizations for multiple retail pharmacy locations. The schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, with holiday rotation and no weekends. The pay range is $22.90 - $34.35 per hour. Qualified candidates are eligible for a $6,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • PTCB/NHA technician certification (CPhT) required.
  • North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration as a pharmacy technician required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of a formal technician training program preferred.
  • One-year previous pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Associate degree in a healthcare or business-related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Helps pharmacists prepare and process medication orders to ensure patients and departments receive the correct medications on time and are charged correctly.
  • Works collaboratively with others and organizes daily tasks for maximum efficiency.
  • Maintains medicine stock in good condition to ensure the availability of quality drugs and supplies.
  • Provides pharmacy services in patient care areas.
  • Participates in team efforts to improve quality and supports the Pharmacy Department's commitment to Total Quality principles.
  • Keeps knowledge and skills up-to-date and assists in educating others.
  • Sets personal goals to support quality improvement and departmental objectives.
  • Follows hospital standards to create a positive work environment through good communication, relationships, and teamwork.
  • Provides care tailored to different age groups as per Age Specific Care Guidelines.
