About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Hospital Pharmacy Technician to work alongside our pharmacy team in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment. The Hospital Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists in various pharmacy operations, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation and distribution of medications to support patient care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) in the state of Arizona.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, medications, and dosage calculations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced certification, such as IV certification.
• Experience with pharmacy automation and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Previous hospital pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently in accordance with established protocols, dosage forms, and patient-specific requirements.
• Assist in maintaining hospital pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and restocking medications and supplies.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide patient-centered care, including home medication verification and addressing patient inquiries.
• Prepare intravenous medications and sterile products using aseptic techniques, ensuring compliance with USP <797>, and <800> guidelines.
• Assist during emergency situations by preparing and delivering critical medications as needed.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of medication transactions, compounding activities, and controlled substance logs.
• Ensure adherence to all federal and state pharmacy regulations, including HIPAA, USP, DEA, and Arizona Board of Pharmacy.
• Perform routine equipment, inspections, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
