About The Position

The Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) PRN position at Fairbury Elite is a part-time role responsible for providing personalized training to individuals based on their needs and goals through a variety of athletically functional activities. The role involves maintaining national certification, managing client health risks, assisting with clerical and environmental tasks, and staying current with industry trends. The position requires flexibility in scheduling to accommodate client availability and department needs, including evenings and weekends. The CPT will communicate effectively with clients and team members, and accurately complete patient registration and processes.

Requirements

Must have the physical strength to perform the following lifting tasks: Floor to waist - 50 pounds, 14” to waist - 50 pounds, Waist to shoulder - 35 pounds, Shoulder to overhead - 20 pounds, Carry 45 pounds for 30 feet, Push 50 pounds/force for 30 feet, Pull 50 pounds/force for 30 feet
A certification in the Personal Training field is required.
Emotional stability conducive to dealing with moderately stressful situations, and effective working relationships with customers, peers, department and organizational leadership, physicians and other health care providers.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with department clients, hospital and department staff.
Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, keyboard and mouse.
Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification recommended, but not required.

Bachelors in science is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide personalized training in accordance with individuals needs goals through a variety of athletically functional activities.
Maintain nationally recognized certification (Ex: CSCS, CPT, PES, CES). Must complete required continuing education units.
Receives & conveys messages appropriately and in a timely manner.
Provides courteous, cooperative services to patients, visitors & staff & demonstrates good communications skills.
Recognize any potential health risks or barriers to exercise upon evaluation and manage them appropriately.
Reports to the dept. director all incidents, equipment malfunctions, and program related issues.
Assists in performing various clerical functions, such as filing charts, making copies, faxing, etc.
Assists in maintaining an orderly, sanitized, and safe work environment. Maintains required cleaning records.
Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature and attending related conferences and in-services.
Accurately completes processes for new patients, including accurate registration information.
Completes required/requested tasks in a timely manner and without prompting.
Participates in the Sport and Fitness improvement activities of the department.
Performs work within specified time frames. Adapts positively to frequent changes and interruptions in workload &/ or work schedules
Adheres to department policies and procedures.
Uses time efficiently and productively to enhance dept. operations & the success of the dept.
Completes all competency/skills assessments and training as required.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Complies with the organizational attendance policy and use of the electronic timekeeping system.
Complies with dress code
Work hours outside of normal business day to accommodate for client availability and Elite coverage to include early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as required or needed.
Understands that the workload and total hours per week changes based on the client volumes, and therefore manages time effectively.
Understands that work schedule is required to be flexible and will be determined by staffing needs and client volumes. Employee work schedules can be changed at any time to meet these needs.
Communicates effectively with clients, Elite Sport and Fitness team, department peers, and directors. This includes checking and responding to phone calls, emails, and text meetings on a daily basis.
