River Oak is seeking a Certified Peer Youth Advocate who has personal experience navigating the Juvenile Justice System and/or being on probation. This role involves using your past experiences to advocate for youth currently involved in the Juvenile Justice system. River Oak emphasizes equity, diversity, and inclusion in its people strategy, aiming to build a diverse and inclusive organization. The JJDTP program is a Full Service Partnership for probation-connected youth (ages 13-17, up to age 26) with a Serious Emotional Disturbance and current involvement in the juvenile justice system. The program aims to keep youth in their homes, schools, and communities by providing comprehensive mental health services and supports. Goals include stabilizing placements, reducing homelessness, supporting academic participation, increasing vocational or employment opportunities, and reducing psychiatric hospitalizations and detention or incarceration.
