About The Position

Choice Recovery Path (CRP) is seeking Certified Peer Support Workers (CPSW) who are ready to use their own recovery journey to open doors for others. The CPSW will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator, walking alongside clients through every phase of recovery, from first steps to long-term stability. This role is an opportunity to turn lived experience into someone else’s breakthrough. CRP leads with values of clients first, transparency, authenticity, responsibility, and dignity.

Requirements

  • Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW) certification
  • Lived experience in recovery and the ability to share that experience authentically
  • Strong communication skills, empathy, and deep understanding of recovery principles
  • Ability to support individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment across varied schedules, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical staff, community partners, and clients alike
  • Valid New Mexico driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of CPSW experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide peer support services, case management, and referral coordination across CRP programs
  • Identify client needs and connect them with appropriate resources within CRP and the broader community
  • Deliver recovery education tailored to every stage of the recovery journey
  • Assess client needs and develop individualized recovery plans and sustainable discharge plans
  • Help clients identify healthy community, family, and social supports to strengthen long-term recovery
  • Provide community-based crisis intervention, de-escalation, screening, assessments, and referrals
  • Assist with Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) group facilitation
  • Administer naloxone when needed
  • Collaborate closely with clinical teams to promote whole-person, recovery-oriented care
  • Complete all required documentation in the electronic health record within 24 hours of services
  • Participate in all required meetings, supervision, and ongoing training
  • Complete required training curriculum to build cultural awareness and strengthen skills
