Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS)
About The Position
We are looking for Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) to provide Community Support Services (CST) in the Charlotte area. CST serves adults with mental illness and substance use needs whose treatment requires additional support to live in the community using a team approach to meet each client's needs. CST is designed to provide symptom stability through the reduction of presenting psychiatric or substance use disorder symptoms, restorative interventions targeting interpersonal, community, coping, and independent living skills, psychoeducation, crisis intervention and de-escalation, and service coordination and linkage to community resources.
Requirements
- CPSS Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of community-based experience
Responsibilities
- Provide Community Support Services (CST) to adults with mental illness and substance use needs.
- Assist clients in living in the community by providing additional support.
- Work within a team approach to meet each client's needs.
- Promote symptom stability by reducing psychiatric or substance use disorder symptoms.
- Implement restorative interventions for interpersonal, community, coping, and independent living skills.
- Provide psychoeducation to clients.
- Offer crisis intervention and de-escalation services.
- Coordinate services and link clients to community resources.
