This position requires working in the community and performing home visits. The candidate must be Certified as a Peer Support Specialist (mental health), not a Recovery Specialist (addiction) or Coach. The Certified Peer Support Specialist functions as part of a team to provide flexible services aimed at supporting persons served, directly or indirectly. They provide expertise that professional training cannot replicate due to their own personal experience with Mental Illness and often act as a consultant to other team members, helping them understand the persons’ served perspectives and subjective experiences. This position has a high degree of personal integrity, generates positive energy, and makes a difference every day. It promotes recovery-based, person-centered, and culturally competent practices.
