Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) are individuals with lived experience in behavioral health recovery who are certified by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) to provide peer support services. CPSSs use their lived experience to support others in finding their own path to wellness and recovery. They provide non-clinical, person-centered support in alignment with DOH guidelines, emphasizing mutuality, empowerment, and recovery-oriented systems of care. This role focuses on providing person-centered care to newly enrolled members, typically within the first 30 days, connecting them with initial appointments and opportunities for early engagement to ensure program retention. The position also involves providing transportation support and managing a revolving caseload after stability is achieved.
