Job Location: 356 Biltmore Ave Asheville NC Schedule: Full-time Position Requirements: Certified as a Peer Support Specialist or 1 continuous year as a current or former recipient of treatment (including mental health/substance abuse treatment or diagnosis) and eligibility for certification as Peer Support Specialist by the governing agency General working knowledge of the human services delivery system in North Carolina Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation Pre-employment screening: Complete criminal background Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities) Drug testing Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements. Proof of employment history or references (if required) Positions that require driving Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals. Requirements

Certified as a Peer Support Specialist or 1 continuous year as a current or former recipient of treatment (including mental health/substance abuse treatment or diagnosis) and eligibility for certification as Peer Support Specialist by the governing agency
General working knowledge of the human services delivery system in North Carolina
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

Engaging with individuals supported at Neil Dobbins Facility Based Crisis Center.
Building Rapport with individuals supported at Neil Dobbins Facility Based Crisis to increase follow up success after discharge.
Supporting/assisting individuals in daily decision making and resolution of minor problems and connecting them to community resources
Assisting individuals in finding resources, advising of processes, and encouraging follow through with proposed resolutions, locating social activities, or provide other assistance as needed
Provide successful 7 day follow up with all residents being discharged from Neil Dobbins, ensure active engagement with follow up plans and assist residents by providing warm handoffs to desired level of care.
Provide support and coordination efforts with all of Neil Dobbins Staff, ensuring quality resident care.
