Certified Peer Specialist (Community Based Recovery Support) Location: Moberly, MO Department: Adult Community Services Employment Type: Full‑Time Active Missouri Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) certification is required for hire into the CPS role. Candidates actively pursuing CPS certification may be considered for a Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist role while completing certification. For individuals who are not yet certified but are committed to becoming a CPS, we offer a PSR Specialist pathway to support professional growth while certification is obtained. CPS Role Overview As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will: Use lived experience to build trusting, recovery‑focused relationships with individuals and families Promote hope, resilience, and self‑advocacy through peer support Assist individuals in identifying strengths, setting recovery goals, and accessing supports Help individuals build meaningful connections within their communities and recovery networks Connect individuals to community resources, recovery services, and medical care Coordinate care with referral sources, guardians, and interdisciplinary treatment teams Provide transportation to and from recovery support services and community‑based appointments as needed Accompany individuals to appointments when appropriate, representing the agency professionally Facilitate group education sessions and provide crisis support when scheduled Document services in compliance with state regulations and CARF standards Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development to maintain certification PSR Specialist (Pathway to becoming Certified) Candidates who do not yet hold an active CPS certification, but who intend to obtain it, may be considered for a temporary Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist role, based on program needs and leadership approval. In the PSR Specialist role, you may: Support individuals through structured psychosocial rehabilitation services Assist with skill‑building, education, and recovery‑oriented group activities Serve as a positive role model and advocate for individuals receiving services Support implementation of treatment plans under clinical supervision Participate in program activities that promote engagement, independence, and recovery Gain hands‑on experience in Adult Community Services while completing CPS certification Transition to the Certified Peer Specialist role may occur upon successful completion of CPS certification and meeting all program requirements.
