About The Position

To provide non-clinical support to individuals in the community. A member of the Community Treatment Team that provides community-based services to adults with mental health and co-occurring disorders. As a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), you are first and foremost a peer – meaning that you have lived experience with mental illness and/or addition – and can serve as a role model for recovery values and principles, providing hopeful information about recovery and wellness. Will provide stage wise treatment interventions based on the consumer’s stage of change.

Requirements

  • Must self-identify as an individual with a serious mental illness, who is currently or formerly was a recipient of mental health services, is in the process of his/her/their recovery and has successfully completed training in illness management recovery interventions.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current certification as a Certified Peer Specialist
  • Valid driver license
  • Ability to drive an organization vehicle
  • Act 33/34/73 Clearances (Criminal/Child/FBI Department of Human Services)
  • Pre-Employment Drug Screen
  • Child Protective Services Law training (CPSL)
